Last Appearance: 7/10/1959   Location: New York City, New York

Members: Flare, Hawk, Huntress, Lady Luck, Spark, Stormlord

Area of Operations: Eastern United States, occasionally other parts of the United States

Status: Disbanded

History: The Liberty Legion was the first non-military paranormal "hero" group in the United States. Most of their activities were confined to the Eastern United States but the group did fight paranormal criminals in all areas of the country.

Although they were "heroes" the Liberty Legion were the subjects of much bad publicity as they operated during the anti-Communist witch-hunts of the fifties.

Mark "Spark" Schmidt, the only publicly known member of the group, was called to testify before the HIAC during the Soviet Psi-Spy Hearings. He retired in 1954 when he was released from jail, shortly after the HIAC was disbanded.

The rest of the group endured the aftermath of the anti-Communist and "anti-masked man" paranoia and continued as a group until they retired en mass, in 1959.
